The IT INTERN role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish education and business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

Answer and resolve user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems

 

Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors

 

Ability to access PC Remotely and troubleshoot client problems

 

Ability to diagnose and repair PC, Printer, Network, SMARTboard and other peripherals

 

Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities

 

Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support

 

Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications

 

Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
