Job Title:  Administrative Assistant—Special Education

 

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED and Office Experience

 

Reports to:  Executive Director of Special Services

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Creates a calm and inviting atmosphere in the office.
  • Creates and maintains a positive climate for students, staff, and patrons.
  • Creates and maintains cooperative relations with students, staff, patrons, and visitors.
  • Makes arrangements for conferences/meetings and arranges for visitor comfort.
  • Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive and smoothly run office.
  • Places and receives telephone calls, records messages and delivers message to appropriate personnel.
  • Works with District Enrollment Specialist to complete registration of special education students.
  • Assists with Coordinating transition of files, both hard copy and electronic versions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all student records.
  • Prepares reports/ correspondence regarding special education matters.
  • Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed, and put it into a usable form.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot printers and copy equipment.
  • Effectively uses computer systems and applications.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor.



Terms of Employment:  Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved compensation schedule and employee work calendars

 

Evaluation:  Evaluation by Executive Director of Special Services in accordance with BOE policy  

 

Physical Demands:  

  • Normal demands as required by performance responsibilities.
